Welcome to the Bedhampton Pianoshop Blog!

We have been restoring and selling pianos since 1988. We specialise in restoring and reconditioning old pianos, both upright and grand. Our work ranges from minor servicing right through to complete overhauls and rebuilding projects which take many weeks to complete.

The aim of the blog is to post regular progress reports on ongoing restoration work, as well as updates on the current available stock and any new arrivals. Where possible these updates will be accompanied by photos to demonstrate the work that we do.

Weekly Update - Week Commencing 2nd June

A couple of things to report this week.

As advertised on the blog and our website, we currently have a summer sale running with 10% off all pianos and piano stools, making this a great time to get a good deal or to make your budget stretch that bit further! Take a look at the website, give us a call, or visit in person to find out more.

Restoration wise, we have begun work on another repolishing job for a client - a 'Creber' baby grand. The piano arrived last weekend and work is progressing well, with all parts of the piano already stripped, sanded and prepared for polishing. Work will continue next week to start building up the coats of sealer, stain and the final finishing coat. The brasswork has already been cleaned and polished ready for re-assembly of the piano.

Also this week, a Chappell upright piano arrived in the workshop. This piano dates from 1911, and is in need of some considerable repair and restoration work to the action. Already, the old return tapes and balance head leathers have been removed, and new ones measured and cut to size. Other repair work, inlcluding re-centering of many flanges is also ongoing. This piano will be available to see and play soon!

In addition, a couple of pianos in the shop received a fine regulation - the final job before a piano is completely ready to be delivered to a customer.

Visit our website at http://www.bedhamptonpianoshop.co.uk/ to see details of the restoration work that we do, and to view all of our current stock.
